2014 Banquet

2014 Banquet

Pastor Andrae Crouch will be singing at the Help the Children Partners’ Banquet on February 22, at the Sportsman’s Lodge Event Center, 12883 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA. Pastor Andrae is a recipient of seven Grammy Awards, four GMA Dove Awards, and only the third Gospel artist in history to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Pastor Andrae also serves as a member of the Help the Children Board of Directors.

"Looking Back - Looking Forward" is this year's Partner Banquet theme. The presentation will include an overview of God's tremendous blessings on help the Children for the past 15 years, and the "Looking Forward" presentation, as we anticipate what God wants to do through this ministry in the years ahead.

Pastors Andrae and Sandra Crouch lead the New Christ Memorial Church in San Fernando, CA. The church is a partner church with Help the Children, where every other Friday, food provided by HTC is distributed by the New Christ Memorial Church family, to needy families in their community.

Tickets for this event may be purchased online for $75.  Or you may purchase tickets by credit card just by phoning Help the Children at 323-980-9870.

Roger Presgrove

After a five year long battle with cancer, our dear friend and brother, Roger Presgrove, went to be with His Lord at 4:15 A.M. on Sunday November 10, 2013.  He was surrounded at home by family and friends.

Roger, with the help of his wife, Roxana, was the Founder and President of Help the Children, a Christian charity headquartered in Southern California, known for its frugal management, with an operating overhead of less than 1% of its total income.  More than $900 million worth of food and supplies have been distributed to the poor on four continents since 1998.

HTC built and operates a hospital in Guatemala, conducts medical and dental outreaches, military assistance programs, disaster relief, supports a girls' school and orphanage in Kenya, and helps provide residential accommodations in Honduras for children undergoing cancer treatment, along with their parents.

Andy W Lay, the chair of the board of directors, stepped in as the interim president of HTC in September 2013.  “The HTC staff and board have all redoubled their efforts during this time to assure the ongoing success of the ministry Roger founded,” Lay said.  “We are all working harder than ever to secure a living legacy to Roger's generous heart and hard work.”

Those wishing to make a gift in Roger's memory may send checks to Help The Children, PO Box 911607, Bell, CA 90091, or they may give through the HTC website on the right side of this page.

HOPE, it’s a powerful word that embodies one of the driving forces behind living life……Hope focuses on expectations, dreams, and goals.  It brings joy to our present-day lives and motivates us to make every day count…..

For many of the poor and homeless, there is a loss in the will to live or try.  With hopelessness comes pain and despair.  At Help the Children (HTC) we do our utmost to help fill the hopelessness by providing food, clothing and personal care items to needy individuals, needy children and their families, senior citizens on fixed incomes, as well as orphanages in third world countries.

We instill in them that tomorrow can be a better day if you are willing to try.  We believe that you might not do great things, but you can do small things in a great way.
