Guatemala Hospital brings hope to many.

February 21, 2012 - Guatemala Hospital Grand Opening - February 21, 2012 marked our Help the Children Guatemala Hospital Grand opening. With over 800 people, 44 from the United States alone, the much anticipated grand opening took off without a hitch. Twenty-two students from Oaks Christian School, in Westlake, are credited with graciously building a playground set in the back of the hospital designed with a different type of family waiting room in mind. The long list of dedicated volunteers we have to thank is flagged with significance. We also extend a thank you to all of the people making ongoing monthly donations, which contributed not only to the building of our groundbreaking hospital, but also continue to aid in the life saving services being provided by our Help the Children Guatemala Hospital. Thank you!

Guatemala Hospital - How It All Started

April 21, 2009 - Land in Guatemala - Help The Children was given eight acres of land in Malacatancito Huehuetenango, Guatemala, to build a hospital in the community. The hospital is currently in development and near completion, will provide healthcare for over 300,000 people who currently do not have a medical facility, at all.

Help The Children already has commitments from the Medical University, as well as retired medical professionals, to provide staffing on a volunteer basis. The hospital has an estimated completion date of May 2011. Upon completion of the hospital project, Help The Children will begin construction on a church and an orphanage to be added to the complex.

May 24, 2009 - Guatemala Hospital - Guatemala Hospital Project takes the first steps to serving the poor and needy in Huehuetenango area of Guatemala. Over 300,000 people in the surrounding area will benefit from the hospital scheduled to be completed by 2011.

January 2, 2010 - Guatemala Hospital Project Update - Right now we are 25% through with our hospital building in Guatemala.  To learn more about this project that will save lives for years to come. Our goal is we need 3,000 people to commit to $20 per month for only 6 months.  That will raise over $300,000 to finish this badly needed hospital.

Hospital construction is underway, but will halt if more donations are not received soon. I now extend my appeal to you. I need your help to continue with the project. May 4, 2010 - Guatemala Hospital Project Update - Our Help the Children Guatemala Hospital is near completion.  What's taking place, here with the ongoing monthly support, and in Guatemala with the volunteer-based building of the hospital, is truly amazing.

Roger's vision of helping people stranded without medical care, has now turned into a full-flledged Help the Children Guatemala Hospital reality. The potential scope of help that our Guatemala Hospital will bring in the future should be enough to compel us all to join the cause.
