A Letter From Roger Presgrove
Dear Friend of Help the Children:
Let me ask you a pracitial question: If you did not have enough money leftover this week after paying your rent, putting gas in your car to get to and from work, and paying all your utilities and yet you still needed to buy groceries to feed your family, what do you do? Who would you turn to? Would you turn to family? Friends? Maybe your church family? What if those people were just as needy as you were and therefore, could not help? What would you do then?
Fortunately, for many families in this exact situation here in southern California, there is Help the Children. We are here year long to help families in need just like this. Families who simply do not make enough money to afford to feed their families and still keep a roof over their heads and their children safe. And for some who come to our doors, they cannot even do that. And that is where we come in.
Every week, families in need are given boxes of food to take home from one of our food agencies. They are given warm clothing and blankets to keep their children warm during these cold winter nights. Formula and diapers are distributed to keep infants nourished and healthy. And the love of Jesus is shared so that each one can find hope in times of desperation. They learn that God loves them and that He cares about their needs -- that they are not alone.
Your financial support of Help the Children each month helps us do this very thing, week after week, and month after month... and it has since 1998. And yet we cannot do this without your help. Will you help us?
Your gift of $20, $50, $100 or whatever amount the Lord puts on your heart to give is critical in helping meet the everyday needs of the poor right here in southern California. Thank you in advance for giving today. Families in need are depending on you....
For the children,
Roger Presgrove
