New Santa Clarita Activities and Volunteer Opportunities

The following is a list of activities and events planned for Help the Children – Santa Clarita. As you plan activities for your organization throughout the year, any support your organization would like to provide by participating in or promoting our events would be greatly appreciated.

September 21 – November 30th, 2009 – Coasters for a Cause – Purchase tickets for Six Flags Magic Mountain for $25 (Regular Admission is $54.99) and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Help the Children. Contact Wendi Lancy at 661-299-9273 or wendi@helpthechildren.org to purchase tickets.

October 9 - 10, 2009 – Castaic Days–volunteers needed to help with this event which will include a food drive for Help the Children

October 9 – 10, 2009 - Magic Mountain Man Triathlon / 5K – 50 volunteers needed to help with this event which will include a food drive for Help the Children.

October 24, 2009 Make a Difference Day_Community Wide Food Drive – Volunteer teams are needed at local grocery stores to hand out fliers and collect food donations. Plan now to participate in this nationwide event sponsored by The City of Santa Clarita.

October 24, 2009 4th Annual Give-Apalooza Event at La Mesa Jr. H.S. – Volunteers are needed for pre-event preparations and the day of the event. Sponsors and donations of raffle and silent auction items are also needed.

November 2009 Provide turkeys for needy families.

November – December 2009 Adopt a Family – provide Christmas gifts for the children of local needy families.

December 2009 – Provide hams for needy families.

March – April, 2010 Feinstein Challenge – All monetary and food donations received during March and April will help us qualify for matching funds from the Feinstein Foundation.

April 2010 Easter – Provide hams / turkeys for needy families.

July 2010 School Supplies – Collect new backpacks and school supplies for needy families.
