July 1998 Newsletter
Words are inadequate to express the wonderful things the Lord has been doing at Children's Network International this past month.
Internationally: We sent a container completely loaded with corn seed (with fertilizer) to North Korea on June 12, 1998. With the Lord's help we plan on shipping (1) container per month to North Korea to help in their efforts to grow crops (the containers are donated so there will be no added expense). They are not asking for a hand out, they are asking for a hand up and that is what CNI is trying to do for them. We believe it is important to teach them to fish instead of feeding them each day. Secondly, we are involved with sending supplies to Africa by providing clothing and personal hygiene items.
Domestically: We have distributed more than 300,000 pounds of fresh produce to more than 60 churches and food pantries throughout Southern California. Along with providing food to these low income families we share the joy of who Jesus is and let them know that they are truly loved amoung God's people. Our belief is that it is just as important to meet their spiritual needs as their physical needs.
We are now in full swing in our warehouse in Los Angeles. The Lord has opened all the doors for which we are truly thankful. It is only by God's grace that we were able to find a warehouse for the right price that we could afford. None of this would be accomplished without the financial support of friends like you.
Last month, I mentioned our needs for a bobtail truck. Please keep this matter in prayer. It is our goal that we never miss the opportunity to recieve food when it has been offered. We desperately need transportation in order to pick up product for our ministry. We are earnestly seeking funds to cover the cost of this truck. I will continue to keep you updated as to the needs and requests for CNI.
With a donation of $20 a month we can help provide fresh produce and personal hygiene items for a family of four for the entire month. This can be accomplished because 100% of your contribution goes to our programs. The need is great and we seriously need your help. Thanks for allowing me to share our concerns with you.
May God richly bless you in the days ahead as we seek together to further His mission.
in His Service,
