  • BREAKING NEWS: Food Container Held in Haiti   3 days 1 hour ago

Indeed there are many things that a children must learn as time goes by.This would be for the benefit of them as they formed the totality of their being.Yes,it's true! We should guide them all throughout as they were growing up.There are certain fear that we have whenever we didn't meet the expectations we set for them. That's the reality of the scenario nowadays.Try to observe the kind of situation today. What do you observe? There are many crimes and the financial status of the economy is at its worst.I hope that the Pacific Investment Management Co. in US will play its part in doing the best they can to help the dying economy.

Help the Children program helps many children who are in most need. As we will observe, there lots of less fortunate children who cannot eat 3 times per day due to crisis. Good thing there is Help the Children program that focuses on providing the primary needs of those less fortunate children. But this program would not be possible without the help of the sponsors that voluntarily give donors. I am hoping many will support this program so that many children will become happy.

  • Guatemala Hospital Project Update   5 weeks 2 days ago

This is a good news indeed! We really need to build hospitals because there are many sick people who need it for fast recovery. Most especially those who went on to war. Many people have perished with the open violence in Kyrgyzstan which has created about 400,000 refugees and destroyed the spending budget the nation has kept. The nation's move toward parliamentary democracy – which has emboldened supporters of overthrown former President Kurmanbek Bakiyev and militants from Uzbekistan – has been at the middle of clashes between armed troops and civilian protesters. As the fighting subsides, the focus in Kyrgyzstan moves toward an economically daunting recovery. And as current reports from Reuters and other international media sources indicate, emergency money is on the way.

  • Summer Food Box Program   9 weeks 2 days ago

As the end of June fast approached, all I could think about was summer vacation plans. Our children would be out of school, leaving our schedule wide open for the usual fun-filled activities. This has become an automatic mindset for many years now. I am an ex-public school employee and I never realized, during my years of service, the hardship that summer can bring to children accustomed to eating the free cafeteria food. I worked the lunch shift daily, helped hand out the applied-for tickets and guided students through the busy tray lines. I write today saddened by the fact that during those countless times of opening up chocolate milks, unwrapping chicken nugget platters, or reaching for a few more packets of ketchup, I never once thought about the access to food coming to an end at the close of the school year, leaving children hungry. Thank you Help the Children for bringing this ever important matter to the forefront. More than that, I plan to contribute to the cause and join the Summer Food Box Program.

  • Summer Food Box Program   9 weeks 5 days ago

I was looking for some fun summer recipes for my family and I was inspired by this program. Instead of coming up with a new way to cook chicken on the bbq, I realized that I need to help give some kids lunch. Thank you for making my summer matter.

  • Summer Food Box Program   9 weeks 5 days ago

Thank you for taking the time to make a comment. I agree with you as well. I think of volleyball, sand, and surf. Everytime I turn on my barbeque I will think of the Summer Food box Program. Thanks Help the Children. We are all behind your work. Keep it up. Please make a comment if this in inspiring to you!

  • Summer Food Box Program   9 weeks 5 days ago

This was incredibly eye opening to me. When I think of summer I think of everything listed at the beginning of this post. But I forgot that things aren't easy out there and this year it must be worse than ever. Thank you Help the Children for providing food for these children. Thank you for reminding all of us that summer doesn't mean fun for everyone.

So we had our fund raising concert and ran the race which we planned to use to sell the shirts that we weren't able to at the concert. Lets' just say that it was a great success in learning how to do things right the next time. We have plans in the works to sell the remaining t-shirts and we are thinking about getting something going in October...we will hopefully be a well oiled machine by then. We did however raise some money and will be sending it to you very soon.

It's good to know that He has got it all under control even when we don't see it.

  • DISASTER: AMERICA WON'T BE FORGOTTEN   16 weeks 6 days ago

Do you know how prayer can be powerful ? Does it really protect us in times of hardship especially when we left behind by the disaster?? Now there is combating over National Day of Prayer 2010 and whether it should be a national holiday or not. The argument naturally is about it being a religious holiday; nonetheless it is not depicting a certain religion, and wasn't our country founded under God, or was I just taught the 'Pledge of Allegiance' completely wrong? We celebrate so many spiritual holidays here in America, National or otherwise. If your faith has a holiday and you also take the day off work, you couldn't be reprimanded just because your manager doesn't observe the exact same holiday, or that could be religious persecution. So let's consider how numerous common religious holidays we celebrate in America; Christmas, Easter, National Day of Prayer, Kwanzaa, Rosh Hashanah, Ash Wednesday, Pass Over, Yom Kippur, St. Patrick's Day, and the list continues.

    job

I am Joseph Minga. I am originally from DR- Congo and live in South Africa for 9 years now. I have received the calling of God in this area of children. But, I don't just know how to start. I was delighted to see that you propose to teach me how to get started.
I am writing this message because I believe I have wasted alot of time and think that it is now time for me to do something about spritual and material salvation of millions of children starving and losing their lives while something could have been done.
I am about to complete my doctoral thesis on "child soldiers"; just to tell you how I am so concerned about children.

I have no doubt in my mind that you are doing exactly what God is laying on my heart to do.
    God bless!

Here is an invitation we sent out of an idea to raise money to send supplies to Haiti:

    Sunday, March 14, 2010
    1:00pm - 6:00pm
    Northwood Community Park ("Castle Park")
    4531 Bryan Avenue
    Irvine, CA

Joyful, Josiah, Jamie, and Dave all are having birthdays!!!

Please no gifts!! But rather a $20 donation for Help The Children (check out www.helpthechildren.org) Your $20 includes a wristband which will get you a t-shirt, food, birthday cake, and live music. We will have baked goods and crafts for sale where all proceeds and donations go toward Help The Children.

Help The Children has a warehouse, packed with pallets of medical supplies, food, drinks, and tents, waiting to be shipped to Haiti. Finances are keeping the pallets in the warehouse because of shipping prices. $4,000 will ship $350,000 worth of supplies. Our goal is to raise enough money to ship as many pallets as possible.

We are a team of 12 runners that have committed to running an 180- mile relay race from Santa Barbara to Dana Point on April 23-24, 2010. (Check out www.ragnarrelay.com for more details). We decided to not only run this race for fun, but for a cause. Our dream is to raise money for Haiti, and this party/benefit concert is one of the ways we plan on doing just that! For more information on our team, check out our blog at: http://www.twelvedisciplerunners.blogspot.com/

We can’t do this alone and the people in these disaster areas need us. Please come out to celebrate and get together with us. Feel free to pass on this invite to anyone and everyone you know that would like to come and be a part of the fun with us. There is a huge park, soccer fields and various grass areas to play around in.

If you know anyone who would like to sell crafts/goods at the benefit concert that day, please
    email cortney3@gmail.com

Thanks and we’d love to have you!

We would like to thank Bob for going out of his way to help. Today, Bob called us and let us know that we had a spelling error on our home page. This blew us away. We would like to thank him for his attention to detail and for taking the time to serve.

    Thank you Bob.

This news cast is so uplifting. It tells the stories about the people and their lives being changed by Help The Children. I think that it is so great to see how Help The Children is still going strong in such a tough economical climate.

It is so encouraging to also see that Help the Children has more than 1 strategic location to get people food. The Santa Clarita food bank is awesome in offering people food twice a week. Wow! Way to go Help the Children..

THanks so much to everyone involved in keeping Help the Children and what they do alive!!

    Many blessings,

    Ryan
