Guatemala Hospital Project Update

Right now we are 25% through with our hospital building in Guatemala.  To learn more about this project that will save lives for years to come, please click here to learn more.  Our goal is we need 3,000 people to commit to $20 per month for only 6 months.  That will raise over $300,000 to finish this badly needed hospital.

Good News - Bad News: Hati Relief

Over the past few months, with your support, we have sent relief supplies to many families in Haiti.  But, as you know, the economy, the immigration debate and now the oil spill in the Gulf has distracted much of the attention away from the urgent need to feed children in Haiti.

BUT THAT HASN'T STOPPED us from working hard here at Help The Children.  The good news is that we have two more containers of food, water and medical supplies at our distribution center.  The bad news is that we don't have the funds to ship them to the needy in Haiti.

November 2005 Hurricane Victim Aid in Mississippi

Trip to Mississippi Words are inadequate to express to you what we saw in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. As many of us have seen on TV, Hurricane Katrina devastated thousands of families but to actually witness this devastation first hand was beyond words! We had the opportunity to distribute our supplies at a local junior high school that had the only building safe enough to occupy. The EOC (emergency office center) had buses picking up people in the surrounding areas because their vehicles were destroyed and they had nor form of transportation.

January 2005 Tsunami relief

Tsunami Relief

The news is full of the unimaginable suffering, death and devastation brought by the recent tsunamis caused by the second largest earthquake in recorded history. This catastrophic event is another reminder that, despite all of our goals and plans, our lives can be changed in an instant. What a blessing to daily place ourselves in the hands of our loving God and trust Him for our future. Our hearts and prayers go out to the people affected from the disaster as well as their rescuers and those bringing aid.

There are more than 200,000 men, women, and children currently living in this Guatemala village with NO hospital at all. They have a small clinic where a doctor comes every Monday for 4 hours. Can you imagine not being able to see a doctor for months about a problem that is threatening your life?
